Deflagration (end-of-line) flame arresters are passive devices that prevent flames and fires from entering pipelines and vessels that emits flammable gasses or vapors. The flame arrester contains a flame element which, during normal operation, allows free flow of gas from the pipeline or vessel to the atmosphere, but prevents fire or flames from outside the system from entering the system and igniting its content. A hood and a screen protect the discharge and prevents dust, rain, wind and insects from entering and reducing the efficiency of the product.
This flame arrester is suitable for extinguishing subsonic flames that move at the speed of sound. It is designed to be installed at the end of a pipeline or at the end of a container where it should be installed in a horizontal plane.
