Chemical explosion suppression - Safevent
CHEMICAL EXPLOSION SUPPRESSION
DESCRIPTION

Our explosion suppression system provides safety to enclosed processes in which dust represent a risk of setting off an explosion. The explosion suppression system is designed to combat and extinguish fires in an efficient and effective manner by spraying fire-fighting powder into the burning material while it is transported. For this reason, our explosion suppression system is suitable in plants such as:

  • Dryers
  • Mixers
  • Silos
  • Grinders
  • Dust collectors

And in industries such as:

  • Food industry
  • Grain and feed industry
  • Timber industry
  • Chemical industry
  • Pharmaceutical industry

The explosion suppression system consist of a control unit, detectors and a canon.

The control unit and detectors

The control unit of the explosion suppression system is active by pressure detectors mounted on the production equipment, in which an explosive atmosphere can occur. Three pressure sensors are configured to activate the control unit whenever overpressure from an explosions early stages is detected. The control unit then activate the canon which prevent the explosion from developing.

Alternatively, the pressure sensors can be replaced with spark detectors or other detection units.

The canon

Depending on the ventilation system, the canon is available in standard capacities on 2, 4 8, 16 or 24 kg. Connection to pipes and channels requires a 45 degrees adapter to be able to spray the extinguishing powder into transported and burning material.
