Type V-DEX is a diverter. It is used to deflect explosions propagating through ducts and channels, preventing the spread of flames or overpressure to connected vessels and devices.

The diverter's body comes in painted steel but can also be manufactured in stainless steel. On its topside, one or more explosion vent panels are mounted. Depending on the pressure/vacuum, these will be either flat (type VL) or vacuum (type VD) explosion panels. The explosion panels are included when ordering V-DEX diverters.
